🛡️ Privacy Highlights
- Zero Calculation Logging: When you enter measurements into our calculators, all mathematics execute entirely inside your local browser. No values are transmitted to our servers.
- No Personal Data Sales: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to data brokers or advertisers.
- Full Compliance: Designed to meet the standards of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
1. Information We Collect
We believe in minimal data collection. When accessing ML to Ounces, the only technical data collected comprises standard automated server log entries (such as IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, referring URLs, and timestamps) solely for maintaining server uptime and preventing denial-of-service attacks.
2. Client-Side Calculation Execution
Unlike server-heavy web applications, our calculators use client-side JavaScript. This means your numbers, ingredient choices, and conversion results remain strictly on your local device. We have neither the technical capability nor the desire to record what volumes you calculate.
3. Cookies & Local Browser Storage
We do not employ persistent invasive tracking cookies. We may utilize standard session cookies or local browser storage strictly to remember basic UI preferences (such as your chosen light/dark theme preference or mobile menu state).
4. Analytics & Performance Monitoring
To improve site navigation and detect broken links, we may use privacy-preserving, aggregated analytics. These tools collect anonymized metrics without tracking individuals across different websites.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Our educational resources are designed for students of all ages. In full compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we never knowingly request or collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age.
6. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)
If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), you possess statutory rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, or request erasure of any technical server logs that may identify your network endpoint.
7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, California residents have the right to know what categories of personal information are collected and the right to opt out of any sale of personal information. As stated, ML to Ounces does not sell personal information.
8. Information Security
All data transit between your browser and our servers is secured using modern Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS encryption) to prevent interception by malicious actors.
